Intermediate Rope Intensives

Shibari

Shibari or Kinbaku is the art of erotic Japanese Rope Bondage – beautiful and engaging, it has a rich history and deep roots in Japanese culture.

The Studio Kink Team have been working on a new format for our regular rope tuition.

Starting in February is our new syllabus based system. We have lesson plans for the entire remainder of the year. This guarantees that you can progress and won’t be unnecessarily repeating content.

For those more advanced or completing our beginner course our intermediate progression will consist of 10 courses. These are the same courses as we run during our Thursday night intermediate classes but in intensive single day format. A new course will be run each month. Each course will build on the previous ones. We have content for the syllabus planned through for all of 2017!

While it is not compulsory to complete prerequisites, we highly recommend them in order to get the most from the course.

We recommend having a partner to tie for the intermediate/advanced progression in order to practice hands on and receive . You will need your own rope.

Doors open 6:45 pm and classes begin 7pm sharp and will finish before 9pm. The Studio is open for supervised practice until 9pm.

Beginners course and our TK course starts Thursday 2nd February. February Saturday 18th we are running the intensive/catch up version of our TK course. Attending this will ensure you are prepared for our first international guest presenters of 2017 Pedro and Gestalta. Then on Thursday 2nd March our Hishi course will begin.

These intensives are great revision for people who have attended our Thursday night intermediate course. The are also the perfect way to catch up if you miss one of the Thursday night classes that month.

FAQ

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement is ideal. Think gym or yoga clothes.

Do I need my own rope?

For the intermediate courses you will need to bring your own rope (Jute, linen or hemp). If you forget your rope we may be able to lend you some for the class but please don’t rely on this. Alternatively rope is available for purchase at the Studio

What kind of rope do you use?

We highly recommend and use Osada Steve Jute. For the style of rope bondage we teach 8 meter long, 6mm thick jute is ideal. We also have rope for sale at the Studio.

Do models pay too?

Our pricing is per person so everyone coming through the door needs their own ticket to attend.

Do I have to have done the prerequisite course?

No. we do not enforce the prerequisites to attend our course. You may not be able to participate in some exercises due to safety concerns at our instructor’s discretion. Please also be aware that class content can not be modified to cover prerequisite material meaning you may not get the full advantage of attending.

Do I need a partner to tie?

We strongly recommend arranging a partner to tie for our intermediate and advanced content so that you can get hands on experience and receive feedback from the instructor (we consider this the most important aspect of learning).

I don’t have someone to tie/tie me up can you organise someone for me?

We don’t organise this ourselves. We recommend arranging this before coming to class. A great place to meet people for this is SKORE. Alternatively you can post on our facebook or fetlife looking for a partner.
